Hay que aprovechar

The story about the love of a mother to her child is always endless. The best thing about knowing this kind of love story is that it can renew your love to your mother and to remember how lucky to have the most amazing woman in your life.

That's what I felt when I watch the video about Gladys Tejeda and her amazing mother, Mercelina Pucuhuaranga . Thanks to her 69 year old mother, Gladys has been qualified to participate in the Olympics 2012 in London. She is the first Peruvian marathon athlete to qualify the Olympics.

Watching the video and observing how Mercelina Pucuhuaranga talks about her daughter, you will get the impression how great she is. "Hay que aprovechar" (you have to take advantage of your moment), that was her wisdom message to Gladys.

To finally qualify to the Olympics, Gladys has passed many tests; the most important of all is the perseverence test. Being raised in a simple family, she does not have all the luxury to be pampered by all the things a child should need. She lost in a competition once because she didn't have shoes, sad isn't ? At that time, she really wanted to win the first prize because the prize was a big cooking stove.

Once, she almost gave up running because his father passed away. But she finally realizes that she has to finish what she has started, that is running. Mercelina Pucuhuaranga is the one who always supports and teaches her to keep fighting in order to achieve greatness.

"Hay que avanzar lo que estamos haciendo, hay que terminar, hay que hacer" (you have to move forward, you have to finish, you have to do it), she said that to teach Gladys about endurance.

Any mother who loves her child is inspirational. With her unconditional love, she can be the strength against the odds. As Gladys put that "ella es algo, tambien muy sagrada" (she is something, she is sacred), Mercelina Pucuhuaranga is the mother.

Gladys has hers, I do have mine and I am sure you have yours too. Love for all mothers in the world !
