Are you nice ?

What will be your reaction after somebody labels you as a nice person ? I think most of us take that as a compliment and consider that as a recognition of whatever good deeds that we have done.

But somehow we do forget one thing, that it is Allah who has covered our flaws so that people who see us only see our best behaviour. People don't see us when we are with our ugly faces or people can't hear us whenever we whisper bad things in our minds. In short, people see the side of Dr. Jekyll of us, instead of the Mr. Hyde's side that we have.

He is Al Ghaffar, the one who  hides our flaws. As explained by Dr. Muhammad Ratib An-Nabulsi in his book Encyclopedia of the Beautiful Names of Allah, besides having the meaning as The Forgiver, the word "Ghafara" also means to cover or to hide. Thus, Allah hides our deepest thoughts from other humans so they will never know what we are thinking.

So what will be your reaction after somebody labels you as a nice person ? If we feel content, then be it but do stay on our guard, be not too excited. Please remember Allah, Al Ghaffar, who hides our rotten side. Astagfirullahalaziim, may Allah forgive our sins.  

A New Beginning

Ok, it's official. My theme for my blog is "Alhamdulillah hoy es viernes !", because the reason why I want to write again starts after I have been in countless encounters with my Peruvian sisters that I have met in the mosque every Friday. To meet them every Friday is refreshing and it triggers me to write their stories and any other inspiring stories that I have experienced during my stay in Lima, Peru.

Alhamdulillah and insya Allah this will be a new beginning :)
